Rutherglen family portrait

“Nothing loved is ever lost.” — Ellen Brenneman

An honour to be asked to capture a families last day with their beloved Jack. Cuddles, tears and a little laughter – a beautiful way to celebrate and remember their little pup who will forever remain in their hearts.
15 years of friendship, love and loyalty – both given and received.
RIP Jack.

Farm Wedding, Pleasant Hills

In the midst of Covid, Hannah and Searle decided to move forward with their wedding day, a global pandemic and a locked down country weren’t going to stand in their way. It meant that their guest list was limited – the border closures and border bubble limitations meant that so many of their loved ones would be kept away. Two days before their wedding the bubble expanded and their guest list almost doubled with it! It was mad and frantic with last minute arrangements but it was the most amazing wedding present ever!
The family farm was the perfect location for their ceremony and reception – a ceremony in the front paddock and the reception in the shearing shed.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE a good shearing shed! All so different and the most amazing locations to shoot in.
It became the central location for the day – where the the guys were getting ready, the most amazing bridal portraits and the reception celebrations.

It was bitter sweet for Hannah and her family as the farm was sold just weeks before the wedding. What a lovely way to celebrate their life at the farm before they moved on. Such beautiful memories to take with them and share with the generations to come.
Each location we visited on the day had so much meaning to the bride and her family.

So special to be be invited to be a part of days like this.

studio sitter session

Pure and simple sitter sessions are my absolute favourite type of session! Designed so that your wee little one is the focus. The studio offers a calm and distraction free environment to play – to giggle, laugh and relax.
I call these the “sitter” sessions because this is typically when babes are reaching their sitting milestone. This age is different for every child. Babes are not yet mobile and they react and smile so easily 🙂 Add in the ‘toe grab’ and ‘shove as much as one can into the mouth as possible’ – this session is definitely a parent favourite. I recommend scheduling the session for about 2 weeks after baby is sitting confidently.

Seriously… is there is nothing more perfect than chubby rolls, cheeky smiles and twinkling eyes 🙂

Extended Family Session

I know that organising the whole family together for one big family portrait session sounds difficult – but the portraits that come from these sessions are some of the most important you will take. It’s not often that we get together with the entire family, and even less often that it’s documented. But photos are always the first thing we reach for when we want to look back on our days together. With an extended family session each member of the family gets their own time for gorgeous portraits and of course, we get the generational shots as well.
Your extended family portraits don’t have to be the boring.
You can infuse just as much of your personality and family dynamic as you want.

It’s a moment of your time that will mean more and more as the years go by.

When life gives you an extra day in the year Bella and Jimmy used it in the most perfect way possible. They celebrated their wedding with friends and family at the wonderful Mount Ophir Estate, just out of Rutherglen, in North EastVictoria.
The perfect venue where everything happened all onsite. The guys took over the tower, the girls in the guest house and the ceremony in front of Mt Ophirs old buildings – the perfect backdrop for a ceremony. All brought to life with the amazing talents of Tracey at Enhance Styling and Katie at the Poppy Emporium.
The inside of this building transformed into a stunning reception room, and the wonderful team at Ebden + Olive kept everyone well feed (with some seriously good food!)
Being a gorgeous Summers evening we were able to pop out and take full advantage of our wonderful country sunsets. A cooler temp and no pressure makes for a relaxed portrait session with just the bride and groom. When you have the opportunity to schedule it into your day – I totally recommend it!
